Audio & connectivity

One simple control. More ways to deliver the sound.

SchoolBell handles bell times, audio clips and signal controls. The audio installation can take several forms, from an existing amplifier to networked audio across multiple buildings.

01 / Reuse

Connect an amplifier you already have.

Many schools already have amplifiers, loudspeakers or a 100 V system. SchoolBell can provide new control and an audio source through a suitable analogue connection. This can be a cost-effective way to modernise school bells while retaining compatible equipment.

  3. Loudspeakers / horns
  • Compatible existing equipment can be reused
  • Suitable for conventional 100 V loudspeaker systems
  • AVAB adapts connections and signal levels for Swedish installations.

02 / Distribute

Reach more rooms and more distant areas.

An external Dante box converts SchoolBell’s analogue audio for distribution over a Dante network. Audio can be received by network loudspeakers, a signal processor or a Dante receiver connected to a conventional amplifier. This allows flexible audio zones without bringing every conventional loudspeaker cable back to one central point.

Audio, power and zones serve different purposes.

PoE can power the panel or network loudspeakers. Dante is an audio protocol. The Dante signal originates in the external audio box, not directly in the panel’s Ethernet port.

The same audio can reach many zones without an additional SchoolBell Sync unit. Different audio programmes playing simultaneously require enough independent audio channels. Network audio between buildings needs a working, suitable network connection.

03 / Play locally

Local playback in the sports hall. A shared approach to scheduling.

SchoolBell Sync can play the school’s bells through another building’s local audio system. Calendars and audio files can synchronise when a network connection is available. Analogue audio does not have to be carried from the main building to every other location.

Without a fixed network connection, the unit can play locally using schedules and audio clips transferred previously. Changes are not shared automatically. Live announcements between buildings require a communication link.

SchoolBell Sync also provides local manual ringing and announcements, subject to permissions and zone configuration. Each unit has its own local audio path.

Which approach suits your school?

A smaller school

SchoolBell connects to the school’s amplifier and existing loudspeakers.

A larger school with a network

SchoolBell and a Dante box distribute audio to selected receivers and zones.

School and sports hall

A local SchoolBell Sync unit can give the sports hall its own playback and controls. Dante and Sync can be combined where appropriate.
